My first naval homecoming
I don't do homecomings often. They are very unpredictable and the way my life is set up with a military husband and lifestyle, I can't do unpredictable often. When I am afforded the chance to do one though, my cold, emotionless heart melts every time. Watching a family reunite hits me right in the feels because I have experienced those exact feelings every time with my own family. I have done multiple Marine Corps homecomings but this was my first naval ship one and it was a completely different experience. There was so little space and everyone was on top of each other. It was pure chaos with no direction and lots of yelling but there was also a cool boat and service members bringing flowers to their loved ones. Here are a few bloopers I captured:
- a ridiculous amount of pictures of my clients walking away from me (why did I do that?)
- mid blinks of both kiddos
- mamma bear passing out and eating gum
- blurry photos
- signs waving in front of my camera
- random people walking in front of the camera constantly
- someone on one of the ships yelling at me for taking their picture
- someone on another ship using binoculars looking right in my direction
- beautiful flowers getting the focus instead of my subject
- an awesome pokemon ball balloon stealing the show
